John McWilliams lives in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains east of Visalia, California. John produced the record breaking One Nation Historic Antiques auction catalog in the 1990s. His passion for vintage photography began at the age of twelve when he purchased his first daguerreotype in a Stockton, California antique shop in 1982. John was present at the forming of the Daguerrean Society in Rochester, NY while still a teenager and has attended every annual meeting but one. John makes his living dealing vintage photography and historical antiquities. He currently has a private in-home gallery specializing in both. Appointments can be made by phone (559) 561-3769 or e-mail jmcwilliam@aol.com. John primary collecting interest centers on original photographs and documents of the famed Texas Rangers. The collection is the largest of its kind in private hands, and consists of daguerreotypes, ambrotypes and dozens of other pre 1900 card photographs. This collection is available for viewing to researchers. |
